learning ancestry all the time

A name was often recorded during the Middle Ages under several different spelling variations during the life of its bearer because literacy was rare there was no real push to clearly define any of the languages found in the British Isles at that time. Variations found of the name Mcnamee include McNamee, McNameeMcNameeMcNamee, McNanny and others. First found in county Westmeath (Irish: An Iarmhí) in the Irish Midlands, province of Leinster, where they held a family seat from ancient times.  My  grand father and  grand  mother  in the  photo    Amos and  Theresa  Kronk    - his  mother  was  Laura  McNanny    her  father  was  from I reland    his  name  was  Frances  McNanny   -  going  through  history  records   it  is  spelled  many  different  ways .  I guess the  way  the  writer   thought it  was  spelled .
