my 2nd bath - a wonderful world

I love this bathroom now ok it's just a 2nd bath in our upper level of the house but the good part is thats where my studio is now after making a few gifts and some charity items I wanted a bigger project well here it is.

this is our upstairs 2nd bathroom it's small so I thought what the heck I wanna do something with it it was wall papered with a brownish paper with a leaf pattern that was old with some stains and it just looked drab. I have several cool rolls of wallpaper but none seemed right - and I had these 2 atlases that I have used some pages in a few projects that I loved - and thought that would brighten the room up. Well it has and I just love it. the statistic pages look great and it makes you want to read the walls I replaced the brown shower curtain with one I found on line urban-outfitters.com that is a map of Europe. as you can see each wall was papered in the pages of the atlases as it came together I began to smile because although I had pictured how it would look in my mind in person it looked even better- cooler - brighter - in a good way. I papered with mod podge one page at a time although it went pretty fast the edge trim work took quite a while. a lot of measuring and cutting the shelf came in handy I had it holding pictures and exacto knife, scissors, my tupperware with my mod podge and paint brushes. up and down and up and down and up and down on my kitchen step stool (the kind that folds) the area over the tub surround and near the ceiling took some stretching. but it can be done and if I can do it then any one can . I hope to give you ideas -- like for a kids room old golden book children's encyclopedia under a chair-rail or vintage cook book pictures and pages as a kitchen backsplash - a sheet music covered wall in a music room or music corner of your home or covering an old microwave cart - a coffee table covered in sports illistrated pages or golf world for dad for xmas or birthday will be loved for years.

  3. Sorry I meant to comment on this before. It looks so great. The shower curtain really sets it off. I like the colors from so many water area pages. Sounds like a lot of work, but it sure turned out wonderful.

  4. it was easy work I used an exacto knife and ruler to cut the pages from the book and modpodge to glue to the wall they fit together fast, and looks great it needs to be sealed yet - modpodge has a non-toxic sealer I will use. the whole room redo will cost under 30 dollars.
